Our cosmetic surgeons control discomfort during the breast augmentation procedure with a combination of sedation and general and local anesthesia. Using gentle, efficient and meticulous technique results in a major improvement in recovery. Some of our patients even report going out for dinner the evening after their surgery. We use a long acting local anesthetic during surgery and prescribe anti-inflammatory medications starting the day of surgery. After the procedure, most women report relatively mild discomfort and often need only one or two of their stronger pain medications that we prescribe.
